Short Read | No. of Pages : 80 | Author : Margaret Davidson

This Scholastic biography is a simple read that will give young people a good understanding of who Louis Braille was and the great contribution he made to help the blind be able to read books. I learned many interesting facts about Louis Braille, the first of which was that he became blind by an accident. The most impressive part of his story was his dedication to the idea of finding a way to help blind people read, not just short texts, or school books, but to be able to enjoy a variety of reading. And It is so exciting for me to know more about this subject. This is a very short book telling about the extraordinary and short life of Louis Braille, the developer of the reading system for the blind. He came up with the ultimate in finger pad reading at the age of 15 much to the chagrin of all the adults around him. Inspiring story. I got so thrilled after reading the complete story behind this wonderful gift to mankind. I highly recommend this book for both the child and the adult reader.
